24th Annual Vilano Bridge Run 2020
Gone VIRTUAL
Where else can you get a view of the intracoastal and the ocean in one course? Did you slay the Green Monster and were looking forward to
Slaying the Grey?
Here's your chance!!
Our course continues to be one of the most picturesque runs/walks around.
VILANO BRIDGE VIRTUAL 5K & 10K RUN/WALK
(1 mile fun run upon request)
While registered runners can complete your Virtual Race anywhere and at any time, we hope you’ll consider using our course maps as a guide to enjoying our scenic race routes.
You’re guaranteed great views and a challenging run.
Print out and take along one of our Virtual Run trivia sheets with course maps.
If registered runners answer & return your trivia sheet by May3rd, we’ll prepare an extra surprise for you from some of our sponsors.
Remember, as a 2020 race registrant, you are welcome to pick up your race shirt and medal at the 1st Place Sports designated packet pickup location you requested (dates TBD due to the uncertainty of the virus).
Don't forget to look for more information to come.
You don’t have to take part in our Virtual Race to receive your race shirt and medal but why not join in the fun?
Be creative and find ways to compete with your fellow runners while still keeping your distance.
Few ideas:
-Get a TEAM of Virtual Runners
- Run at a separate time and share your results with each and see who had the best time!
- Run at the same time but stagger the distance giving each other 1/4 mile separation
- If you have a treadmill at home Facetime your buddy while you run
- How many other ways can you think of to use the technology we all have?
Share your ideas, pictures, time, let's get this thing rocking!!
Only YOU can make this happen

Welcome 24th Annual Vilano Bridge Run
Turned Virtual due to the Coronavirus mandates
Thank you to all who registered as a participant
Your health and that of your family are of utmost importance to those organizing the annual Vilano Bridge Run. As such, due to the Governor’s ban on mass gatherings to curtail the COVID-19 virus, we are forced to cancel the 24th Annual Vilano Bridge Run, scheduled for March 21st.
This race is an important fundraiser for the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind and North Shores Improvement Association. Please know that your race registration fee will continue to go toward supporting these valued organizations and that your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Runners are optimists by nature and for every door closed, another is opened. We are hard at work planning a Vilano Bridge Virtual Race.
This will allow you to run at your convenience, receive your race T-shirt and finisher medal and submit your times to 1st Place Sports for posting.
True, you won’t be able to place in your age group but you will be able to stay safe and run on your own schedule.
While you won’t get to enjoy our fun after-party, we do invite you to come on down and run your virtual race here on our beautiful bridge.
We’ll be widely sharing details on how to participate in the Virtual Run in the coming days.
Again, thanks for your patience and understanding during these tough times and know that your continued support of these two local charities is greatly appreciated.
Our thanks go out to our Title Sponsors Bob Holmquist & Charlene Garra of Watson Realty

Thank you to our sponsors
The Vilano Bridge Run Planning Committee, the North Shores Improvement Association and the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind greatly appreciate your generosity in serving as a sponsor for this year’s Vilano Bridge Run.
Unfortunately, due to the current actions to curtail the COVID-19 virus, we are forced to cancel this year’s race. We’ve begun the work of reaching out to those registered for the race using the message below.
We are currently working with First Place Sports to develop and administer a “Virtual Race” to keep registrants excited about doing their own run while supporting our local charities.
As you can see, we’ve referenced your support of the event and our community. We hope you’ll plan to be a part of our special 25th Anniversary race next year.
Until then, please accept our thanks and be safe during these trying times.

23rd Annual Vilano Bridge Run held
March 17, 2019
This year NSIA donated $5000 to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The remainder of the funds were used to remodel the Firehouse building, replaced the air conditioner unit and the handicap ramp. Again, we had a record number of runners exceeding 700 runners. The runners, family and friends enjoyed the "Party in the Park", beer, silent auction, games and more! This was made possible through your sponsorship donations and participation.
